Crystals and Meditation
Before choosing a stone for an area of your home, first think about you would like to attract for that space. Crystals are especially effective when combined with meditation. When you are meditating, hold them in your receptive (non-dominant) hand, clear your mind, and allow yourself to receive the energy of the crystal. As well as meditation, gemstones can be placed around your house, work or you can carry them with you to benefit from their soothing presence. There are numerous crystals to work with for both calming and energizing needs but I don’t want to overwhelm you with information so I’m highlighting only a few.
Healing Crystals by Room
In the Living Room
Often the living room is the first room you enter into a home or it’s the main room in your line of sight. It’s often an open space that energetically welcomes you home each day and is the greeting your guests first receive when visiting your home. Additionally, the living room is a gathering area for socializing or conversing. So, the ideal is to create a warm and welcoming space. Because this room may get a lot of traffic and hold different energies, there are some key crystals to use to help clear or purify the space. Two crystals that can assist in keeping the space free of negativity are apophyllite and clear quartz. This is because as they are both very powerful cleansing crystals. Consider placing the clear quartz in the center of the living room so that it’s positive energy can radiate throughout the whole room.
In the Kitchen
The kitchen is an area in the home that is often referred to as the heart of the home. The kitchen is where we are nourished and where we nurture others. In most cultures, social gatherings center around food. For the kitchen, we would look to crystals that magnify the positive energies of health, wellness, love, and nurturing. Rutilated quartz can increase light and clear energy as it is an effective cleansing quartz. Green aventurine and apophyllite are good for creating positive vibes such as happiness, wellness, and peace.
In the Bedroom
The bedroom is our designated space for tranquility, rest, relaxation, and most importantly sleep. Since this is our sleep sanctuary and a space we often share with a loved one, our bedrooms are very intimate places. The goal in creating a relaxing, tranquil bedroom is to ensure you are able to get restorative rest and sleep. Crystals can be helpful in achieving this goal by providing a calming vibration. Oynx can help with grounding, calming worry, and soothing nightmares, harmony in intimate relationships, and improving self-control. If your intention is to bring balance to an intimate relationship place it on a nightstand or on a headboard.
Another good crystal to place in the bedroom is calcite because it’s frequencies help create a peaceful and relaxing environment. Calcite comes in a different colors; red, black, gray, green, honey, orange/peach, pink, red, violet, and white. Calcite helps in general with manifestation, cleansing, inner peace, grounding, and energy amplification. Next, rose quartz can be used in the bedroom to increase love and peace. Consider incorporating feng shui, by placing the rose quartz in the far, right corner of the home (according to the ba gau) will help increase unconditional love for self and others, bring balance and peace to relationships, and bring inner healing.
In the Bathroom
The space in the bathroom can go one of two ways… either it’s a place to temporarily tolerate or it’s spa like qualities make you wish you could find reasons to stay in there longer. So the goal is to create a secret sanctuary for rejuvenation and washing away the spoils of the day. Using blue lace agate in the bathroom can help create a soothing atmosphere as it is known for being a water-energizing stone that holds the healing energies of peace and tranquility. You can place it by the sink or shower. Amethyst is another good crystal to use to relieve stress and create calm.
In An Office or Work Space
Our work spaces need to vibrate with motivation and creativity. If we can minimize stress and distractions in our office, this can lend to greater productivity. However, we do not want our work space to feel cold and sterile. We still want it to feel personalized and styled. To emphasize the point, in a study published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology it was found that productivity at work increased by 32% when people decorated their own work spaces! Certainly it’s a space that should feel pleasing and uplifting to the spirit. The last thing you want is for it to be a place that feels heavy, uncomfortable, and stressful. So, if you are looking to turn your work space into a sacred space, below are some crystals that can assist with boosting focus, clarity, self-confidence, and motivation.
First, Black tourmaline is wonderful to use to shield you from negative energies, whether your own or others’, as it has powerful protective and purification qualities. It can transform those negative vibes into energy that vibrates at a higher and lighter frequency, boosting feelings of confidence and grounding.
Next, having fluorite near your computer can enhance productivity, focus, and organization. You may have heard fluorite being called “the genius stone” because it supports the balanced working of the right and left hemispheres of the brain. It can also enhance mental clarity as you pursue learning new information, problem solving, and creating. It can also neutralize vibrations of stress into feelings of balance, centeredness, and focus.
Minimize EMF Exposure With Crystals
Lastly, most likely your work space includes wifi and an electronic devise or possible several electronic devices. The electro magnetic field that has become a part of our every day lives brings with it legitimate concerns towards our well-being. If you have concerns about the amount of EMFs you are exposed to, bringing in shungite into your workspace can help protect you from EMF exposure. Shungite can absorb harmful EMFs and strengthen your own energy field as a line of defense against it’s effects. Also, don’t forget about the Himalayan Salt Lamp which has similar benefits.
